This is or was Abbi.  She was a quiet, sweet Persian cat (known for that flat face and grumpy look).  Don't let the grumpy look deceive you, however; she was very sweet and affectionate, frequently found sitting and quietly observing our every mood.  We had her for only about six months but I did indeed miss her when she died.

Here's another photograph of Abbi, sitting on the end table, quietly watching our comings and goings.
This picture is sad.  Abbi had thick long hair that had become matted.  We took her to the vet who trimmed her hopelessly matted hair but accidentally nicked her in the process.  This slight injury hid a deeper problem that we didn't recognize until too late: she was suffering from kidney disease and over night became so ill that she was almost comatose.  Soon after, we had to have her put to sleep and it pains me still.
